Single engine and 23 cars has to be the longest train in quite some time

Will be interesting to see what the action is this afternoon.

Per Facebook, the train from last night was tied down at Paterson Ave as of an hour ago. Wonder if/how this would affect SA-31. Perhaps SA-38 will take the train down the Southern again tonight? We shall see

Confirmed, train at Patterson Ave., no crew yet at 1:30 in the pm.

I suspected as much
Seemed unlikely that NJT would allow such a long train with one engine on the Coast Line just before the morning Rush
I have a Doctors appointment on Gilbert St...will check out Patterson Ave shortly

Per a source, SA-38 is on duty at 9PM. Look for a run on the Southern in the middle of the night tonight...

A few 'all cleaned up' shots from today; methinks CR will need to do some tie replacement on the Southern if sand trains are to ever run efficiently. Last line upgrade was, what, back in the late '80s?

Just a minor correction NJT4149....13 cars, 1 brick on the head end, 1 tank, 11 for Woodhaven, through Eatontown at 9:50 in the pm. Thanks to Joe for the heads-up tonight.....a busy 24 hours on the Southern......nice.

Drove across Asbury Ave 20 Minutes ago and was able to see a dimmed headlight at Collingwood auction. Train was either waiting on a recrew or going in Reverse.

6:07 AM, just heard the train awake Farmingdale making its way back to Browns Yard

CSX 4423 shf + 7, eastbound through Eatontown at 7:45 this morning.

They'll probably park the train at Patterson Ave because SA-38 should be good only until 9AM.
