CR on the Southern Secondary

On my way home about 20 or so minutes ago I had passed Extech and had noticed that there are 2 box cars on their siding. Could the train have snuck down earlier this week possibly? Or maybe the extra box car was from last week

My friend just passed Church and said nothing was there

Per an undisclosed source, SA-38 MAY take the train down tonight. I believe they go on duty at 19:00, which is about 5 minutes from now

Thanks for the updates, that's some good reporting from the field. It figures, a rare Thursday night run, and I'm tied up at a rare Thursday night photo shoot (non-RR related) just a quarter-mile from Red Bank station.

Per an undisclosed source, SA-38 had a minor derailment in Woodhaven last night. The SA-93 crew will go down today to re-rail the affected car(s), then will take the train back to Browns Yard. Crew went on duty at 7AM and the train must be back in Browns before 6PM tonight

Crew still working to get the cars back on the railhead, looks like 2 or 3 hit the dirt. Derailment happened at the switch on the main. It's 1:40 in the pm now, probably at least another hours work.

Very slow go here, crew working on one loaded center beam with both trucks on the ground; one more after that, but last car only has one axle off the rail.

SA-93 just went through Lakewood heading east with 2810, 4423, and 3 cars

Wow, then they just took what was on the rails & headed east. The crews had a terrible time getting the one centerbeam (the one leaning in the photo below) back on the rails, and it's probably still partially off the rails. There will be a follow-up train down the Southern sometime in the next few days. I didn't speak to anyone at the scene (everyone was extremely busy), but my on-site view & theory goes like this....empties pulled OK, 9 loads spotted on the east track OK, then things go way wrong. It seems that on the shove back to spot the remaining loads something happened at the switch on the main, and I believe 4 cars went on the ground (maybe 3, but I think 4). Right now, the empties are on the main ok, and probably the one loaded centerbeam is still in bad shape on the main, just east of the switch, and one loaded centerbeam is on the lead just west of the switch, but with 'only' one axle on the ground. Much cleanup to do.........

And the plot thickens.....CSX 2810, CSX 4423 'light power' through Eatontown at 7:05 in the pm. I guess the gon went to Brick Recycling...where are the other 2 Woodhaven loads that they left Lakewood with?

There may have been another recrew, Coast Line talking to SA-31 at BANK now....
