Hoping someone can help with a few questions, sorry if they are simple.

1. From which yards do the cars come from.
2. How often are the cars changed over.
3. Getting on and off the shuttle, I have read the article on nycsubway.org, is it still the same.

1. Can't remember. 239th Street?

2. Usually only changed when they need periodic maintenance and inspections

3. Nothing has changed that I know about. The switch to the broadway IRT usually hangs up, so Maintainers are always on hand. I heard the sequence described by an RTO manager some time back and I recall that he said they try to change the equipment out on both of the middle and south tracks on the same night.

The tracks that the Times Square to GCT shuttle were part of the IRT's "Manhatten Mainline" in the early years of the
IRT.

When I caught the shuttle swap a month ago, the cars came from Brooklyn

They come from Livonia Yard (3 train) and I think the Jerome Yard. In 2005, I remember seeing an S train heading downtown on the 6 line
