Within the next year, I will be certified in ARC, MIG, and TIG by the FEDs. At that point, I will be at a cross roads, so to say. I am considering 3 options, Boiler Makers, Pipe Fitters, or the Railroad. I have always thought I have wanted to work for the railroad, maybe it's because my grandfather and great grandfather were railroaders (IHB), I don't know.

So, does anyone here have any experience in this area? Being in Indiana, my choices are somewhat limited.

I have been spending the past 4 weekends changing out ties at the local museum. We've changed about 120 ties, and I really don't mind this type of work. Saturday I am hoping to knock out at least 50 more.
