Greetings everyone,

I work in a steel mill where we have a family of SW 9/1200's and 1500's. Every so often we have traction motor/truck/wheel damage requiring the separation of the leads and removal of the truck. We've been using a ball peen hammer and lots of spray lube to tap them apart and put them back together. Yesterday after a particularly difficult one I got to wondering if there was a tool especially designed for the job. We did find a set of bars but no way they were going to work in those tight spaces.
Has anyone found or made a tool that does the job? Or is the hammer the only way to go. I'd appreciate any tips also.

Thanks,

Will

There is an actual tool for these.. I'll try and find some info in one of the catalogs at work and get back to you.
