Let's hope any further "farewell" fan trips don't end that way (hmmm, M-2, various Geeps, etc.). Not that they rate a farewell trip, that is.

Was just looking at the Pierce Haviland site (nicely updated), I'd say that the S-Motor you mention, having been "birthed" in 1910, may well have outperformed some of the F-10's, having lasted that long.

Slightly OT but has there ever been a farewell trip for some archaic piece of equipment and then on the day of the farewell trip the engine fails and the trip is canceled? Now that would be great! Hahaha.
