I'm trying to get Overland to do another run of the New Haven CDOT FL9's.
They did a run of them back in 2005 a total of 45 CDOT Fl9's were made.
They did a run of 20 chrome crankshaft rebuilds road number 2006/2023 and 25 Electro Motive rebuilds road number 2024/2026.
I would like to see if Overland would do a rerun of CDOT'S FL9's but in different road numbers like 2027/2016/2014/2011
I think if I can get enough models reserved, like 15 or 20 I think Overland might consider it. I already know 4 people how would want to reserve 2 each so that's already 8. So if there's anyone else how would want to reserve a CDOT FL9 please let me know.

Take a look at pg 100 in the current(2013) walters catalog,A outfit called River Point is doing the FL-9's
in New Haven paint, will do the PC and CR models down the road,no prices yet
This will make Overland think twice.

River Point has been talking about coming out with a FL9 since 2006 and its about to be 2013 and they still have nothing produced. I heard that they still don't have anyone to produce the frames yet. With that said Oveland still has all the blue prints from the 2005 run they did so it should be pretty easy to get a new run produce.

Yeah, Riverpoint has not made any locomotives in years. They were going to make an EP5, but apparently not anymore.

To be fair though, the Frames seem to be the only thing they do have done! There most recent news update discussses having other detail issues.

I appreciate your enthusiasm for lighting fire under Overland. I have both 2024/2026 and wouldn't mind seeing the CDoT rebuilds (from both rebuild contractors) being produced again.

However, I have to point out a minor error in your info. The newest CDoT rebuilds (2011/2014/2016/2024/2026/2027) were not done by Electro-Motive, they were completely remanufactured by Morrison-Knudson Corp. starting in 1993. They were redeignated by MK as model FL9m ( "m" standing for "modified").

The four 1985 Chrome Crankshaft rebuilds (2002/2006/2019/2023) never recieved the "m" suffix in their model designation.

Thanks for pointing that out. It was the Cdot SlE F7's that got rebuilt by Electro motive.
I just started collecting brass back in September and I got lucky and was able to find 2 Overland cdot p32's,1 metro north p32,1 new haven fl9 and 2 division point metro north f10's and I'm on the hunt to find Overland cdot fl9's 2006/2023/2024/2026.
If you ever sell your Cdot's please let me!

GREAT collection 2027!! In addition to FL9m's 2024/2026, I also have MN P32ACDM 226 and CDoT P32ACDM 231, but missed out on the Division Point SLE F7's and never bought any of the Chrome Crankshaft FL9 rebuild models (my mistake). I had originally pre-ordered MN FL9's when I spoke with the owner of OMI at a train show in 2005 and he told me they were going to be the FL9AC "Starship" ABB rebuilds. Turns out they weren't, so I passed on them (still kicking myself about that one!).

If I ever do decide to divest myself of 2024/2026, I'll definately keep you in mind.... but that may never happen 'cause I LOVE them!

You have a really nice collection too! My Cdot's p32's road #s are 230,231 and my mn p32 road # is 227 and my f10's are 410,411
The SlE F7's and mn and amtrak fl9's are also on my must have list. My buddy as the SLE f7's and they are beautiful.

I would love for Overland to do a re-release of a Metro North P32ACDM in the current paint scheme, along with matching commuter coaches. I do believe they still have the tooling for the Amtrak Horizon Phase III passenger cars they did years ago. They would just have to modify the tooling to add center doors.

That would be nice!! I like the current paint scheme on the MN P32 better then the old paint.
I wounder how many people would be interested in buying a MN P32 in the new paint scheme? I know I would take 2.

Where were you able to find the P32ACDM's in CDOT? I've been looking for YEARS for one in brass....

I found mine (my wife did, actually) at the Amherst Railroad Society Train Show in W. Springfield at the vendor table run by The Caboose (GREAT brass dealer from Wolcott, CT) in 2005. I really lucked out as it was priced specially for the show (almost $100.00 off the store price). The following day, I called the shop and secured MN 226 to go with it. I had pre-ordered one of my FL9M's from them (2026), and when it came in, I was so impressed that I called them and bought 2024 from their in-store stock. Great people to deal with.

Good luck finding one .... they were a very limited run. Occasionally you see one on eBay. Keep checking the larger brass dealers out there though, you might luck out.

I saw the post about Riverpoint and just wanted to jump in to see if anyone would be interested in an FL9 shell by Branford Hobbies (New Haven Terminal) I am working on Mark to do a limited run. He is interested but wants to know what kind of interest there is in just the shells so I am poking around various sites to find out. Anyone here interested?
