Recently Tighe Winchester has been receving railcars again. Next to the drive to Tighe is an old spur that used to cross Holton St. Looks like there were at least 4 customers there? Any have an info or maybe even old pictures??

This is the area im talking about:

If you take a look at the historic aerials site, it kind of gives you a rough idea what this spur might have been used for. Going by the 1938 photos, it looks like the area was a aggregate operation. The spur may have been inactive by 1955 since it looks as though the aggregate operation was all done. The resumption of use on the spur looks to have taken place in the mid to late 1960's, with Atlas Paper and the likes moving into the area. The spur must have gone silent sometime in the 1980's early 90's, because the photos from 1995 look as though it was already in a period of dormancy.
I tried to dig up information on aggregate operations in Woburn but could not find anything of significants.

Indeed it was a quarry. Looks like it began in 1913, closed in 1919 but was reopened shortly after under new ownership/management. Not sure when quarrying ended for good (1940's?). That would put the spur at just over 100 years old. Was this spur owned by the B&M at one time or was it privately owned.
