Would you recommend trying to get on.I applied with UP but didn't here anything is there a trick to get on?Also I heard that getting furloughed is common for the first few years is this true.And what railroads service the west thats where I'm looking.Thanks

Some areas have had so many people retire and others go to engineer school that so many things have opened-up allowing guys with only 6 months on the railroad owning regular assignments.
