CSX has expanded their coverage of New England, and so have we! Oxford Junction Press is happy to announce the upcoming release of two new books for New England railfans:

Book #1: CSX Transportation Railfan Timetable #3
Timetable #3 covers all of CSX's operations in New England and eastern New York. It includes both CSX-owned routes and routes where CSX operates via trackage rights on Amtrak, Metro-North, MBTA, Pan Am Southern, and P&W.
  • 300 pages, effective December 1, 2023.
  • Includes former Pan Am Railways lines
  • Detailed scale track diagrams for all routes covered, showing the locations of sidings, stations, bridges, crossings, and other points of interest.
  • Updated lists of train symbols (with cross-references to pre-2023 symbols listed for easy conversion)
  • Summaries of CSX, GCOR, Metro-North, and NORAC operating and signal rules
Identifies railfanning locations along each route that can be found in the 2024 New England Railfan Atlas and Gazetteer (see below).

Book #2: New England Railfan Atlas and Gazetteer (2024 edition)
The 2024 edition includes:
  • Coverage of all of New England, from northern Maine all the way to southern Connecticut, as well as eastern New York, northern New Jersey, and northeastern Pennsylvania
  • 143 pages of full-color maps covering 54,000 square miles showing rail lines, roads, and the surrounding area. Color coding of lines by owner makes it easy to follow a specific railroad.
  • Dozens of detail maps provide close-up coverage for areas with multiple railfanning locations in close proximity.
  • Over 1200 individual railfan locations on 47 different railroads, commuter systems, industrial, and museum operations.
  • Location listings provide information covering the level of rail activity, radio channels in use, nearby defect detectors, GPS coordinates, and driving directions.
  • New railroads covered in the 2024 edition include Eastern Maine Railway, Finger Lakes Railway, Long Island Rail Road, Maine Northern Railway, New Hampshire Central, St. Lawrence & Atlantic, and Washington County Railroad.
With that much information available at your fingertips, it’s easy to find the photo spot you’re looking for, whether it’s in your neighborhood, or a hundred miles away.

The CSX Transportation Railfan Timetable will retail for $39.95 plus $10.00 shipping and handling.
