I've noticed that much of the brush in the old Mott Haven yard area has been cleared, and it looks like some surveying is being done.

Can anyone tell us what is going on? I'd love to go through that yard with a metal detector some day, or just walk through it...

That would be a good place for a big MTA/MNCR head quarter building.
instead of leasing office space all over downtown.
build a new station south of tunnel at CP106 and close melrose.
but hey that would be logical mr Spock.

The other day I saw workers taking ground samples and filling large containers with earth. Looks more like a contamination clean up...possibly lead?

What happened with that building the MTA spent all the money on downtown - something like $500MM+? I have to admit I haven't followed that, I do remember there being a pretty nasty scandal around it.

That would be another tread and has nothing to do with MNCR.
