Where exactly in Massachusetts is that?

I'm guessing that becuase the M-6's were new at the time (1993), it could be of them being delivered.

correct as M2/M4/M6 can only be occupied to next station when in tow.
this is a equipment move either to or from MK who was building the M6's

MK (now Alstom) is in Hornell. Would they have pass through MA?

actualy the MK plant was in Mountaintop PA as far as I know.

GE did some warranty work on its locomotives with a contractor in Pittsfield MA. Perhaps this was a warranty or final fit / finish project?

They were probably on their way to Springfeild Line to be delivered to CDOT in New Haven, since this is the route they came occasionaly.

MK (Alstom) is in Hornell. Are you confusing it with another plant?

Nope I was actualy there.
yes the Alstom plant at one time was GE and later MK.
but the M6's came tru Mountantop Pa.
