M&E gone on some trains

OK today was my first observation of the Zephyr was no Mail & Express cars in consist.

#5(06) passed MP 18.34 with NONE Box, Reefer, or Roadrailers in consist; only the usual nine passenger cars.

I went west on 449(4) and back on 448(6). No boxcars, no roadrailers.

Time at ALB was cut to 30 minutes both ways.

Although carded for 90 minutes or so westbound for 449, we were 75 minutes late at that point due to poor dispatching on the single track segments between ALB & WOR. We left ALB only down 35 minutes, was OT at TOL and SBD, but then delayed and delayed and delayed some more the last 40 miles into CHI, finally arriving 2 hrs late!
