Mactraxx,

9609/610 and 9755/756 are CCM overhauled cars. They should remain in service until when/if more M-7s are purchased in future. (See thread "LIRR Equipment" about Capital Program budget.)
As of the end of 2004, I also show 9204, 9701, and 9702 still in service.

I suspect those cars perhaps met early demises. It was stated that those numbers were not assigned as of 1972. Since the cars are all low numbers, they were made in 1968 or 1969, and could have been history already in 1972. How sad, if true.
All those numbers, except 9043, were retired over the years, before the present decommissioning program was started. 9043 may have been a renumber job. I do not have dates, I'll keep trying to find that information. I bet some of you guys have some tidbits on this type of thing.
