Over in Morris Park: Steam Generator cars Parked on a unused siding in a yard, connected to the steam piping buried in the yard, and plumbed to a water source to heat passenger cars laid up, keeping the onboard water systems from freezing. They may have had two steam generators installed. Also, used at times as a track washer, the steam sprayed under pressure to remove debris from the rails/trackbed while connected to at least 4-5 tank cars of water. Also termed as Steam Power cars. Where in Morris Park was the photo taken?

This is the receiving yard, immediately next to the car wash along the wall looking northeast. It makes sense- the steam would supply the heat for cleaning the fleet back in the day when the RR cared wow it looked.
