I hate riding the train on St. Patrick's Day. My office is right near Radio City and the drunks were out in full force by 1! It is going to be an interesting ride home tonight...

True enough, but word is Dashing dan is irish.. as in "Danny Boy"

Oh Danny boy, the pipes, the pipes are calling
From glen to glen, and down the mountain side
The summer's gone, and all the flowers are dying
'Tis you, 'tis you must go and I must bide.
But come ye back when summer's in the meadow
Or when the valley's hushed and white with snow '
Tis I'll be here in sunshine or in shadow
Oh Danny boy, oh Danny boy, I love you so.
And if you come, when all the flowers are dying
And I am dead, as dead I well may be
You'll come and find the place where I am lying
And kneel and say an "Ave" there for me.
And I shall hear, tho' soft you tread above me
And all my dreams will warm and sweeter be
If you'll not fail to tell me that you love me
I'll simply sleep in peace until you come to me.

St Patrick's Day one time special from 1966. The loco looks like a C420 judging by the location of the image by the cab and also the roof details. Bearded Pat carries a Shillelagh.* Photo: Art Huneke

* A cudgel (club that is used as a weapon**) made of hardwood (usually oak or blackthorn wood) believed to be magical tool corresponding with the staff. Info: Steve Lynch

** Perhaps needed for the trip home, might I add!

Well it seems that Robert S. Anderson (formerly UTU Man, LIRR Conductor, Retired LIRR Conductor, etc.) can sing! Your talents amaze me. First you display your writing skills by emailing the President of the RR about Engineers letting people ride on their engine, now you entertain us with you singing. Maybe you can go visit former Engineer Ronnie C. and perk the guy up now that he is out of a job.

My name Is Gump...Forrest Gump.
I am a retired Engineer.
I am not RS Anderson, but I did work with him.
There is a lot of misinformation posted in here.
Mr.Anderson, did not write to the President, someone did saying they were him.
Perhaps it was you, since you seem obsesssed by him.
Ronnie C? I hate to see anyone lose their job, however, Mr. C did it to himself, alledgedly allowing a passenger to run his train.
Mr. Anderson had nothing to do with that, since he was 900 miles away the day that happened.
Ask any engineer who posts in here, RS was a pleasure to work with, never ever tried to pull rank, always had a smile on his face, always tried to work with us.
I never had to babysit mr. Anderson, he always did his job, when i saw he was the Conductor I knew we would have a good day.
Except for the occasional nap on an equipment train ( like any other Conductor). RS did his job.
RS does not post in here anymore because of people like you.
He does post in the other forum, as RetiredLirrConductor.
Publius, give it a rest. I suspect you are Billy Gibbons, or another supervisor who had a hardon for Anderson, since he would not play your games in NY.

So Bob, now your a retired Engineer? Happy St. Patricks Day Bob Anderson aka, On The Ground, and I'll pass on to Ronnie C. your love. Coming to any retiree functions, you were missed at the most recent one. Everybody was asking about you.

How do you guys sniff him out so quickly? Does a bell go off in your office when he creates a new account?
