Today marks 25 years to the day of the first day of service on Shore Line East on May 29, 1990. One could say it has been the real life "Little Engine That Could" considering how far the service has come since opening day over the past two and a half decades.

Anyone have any memories and stories of the startup of SLE?

I was 14 and remember going to new haven in the early years. with the Genset in the cab car and the cab car facing west. and also getting a cab ride in the cab car seeing how we knew the guys on the crew from the valley and certain fish to be exact
