I saw in the French press that there's going to be extra trains run on The Chaleur for a ski event in the coming weeks.

Anything anywhere on it in english?

Dieter.

From what I've heard, VIA Rail will be adding a special train between Senneterre (Qc) and Amos (Qc) to take people to the Festival Magie des Neiges in Amos. Could this be what you're referring to? It's the Abitibi train, however, and not the Chaleur. I know they have great cross-country skiing around Amos and the festival itself is packed with all kinds of winter activities, but I'm unsure whether there is any downhill to be had.

I'd keep an eye on the VIA Rail website Calendar of Events in particular.

Hope this was helpful-

No, it's some ski event of Gaspe & the Iles De La Madeleine.

Didn't know about the trip to Senneterre. If that's during daylight hours, that's worth taking even if you don't ski.
