Today passing by the Garden City yard I noticed engine 167 & 168 parked in the yard. Anyone have any idea why? or how long they have been parked there?

They usually park MOW and such trains on that line(you mean the yard on the secondary near Stewart Av and Quentin Roosevelt Blvd, right?). Probably got something to do with the Hempstead line tie replacement, which I think was completed on the 5th.
