NS has filed to abandon its former NF&D line between mileposts FD 90.20 and FD 95.20 in Lawrenceville, Brunswick County, VA. The portion between FD 90.20 and FD 92.40 will be reclassified as an industrial track and will remain in place in case of future industrial development. The remainder, between FD 92.40 and FD 95.20, is being considered for trail use. See the STB filing at:

The old NF&D main into Lawrenceville, VA has finally been torn up. The view from the Rt. 58 overpass shows only a ballasted ROW in both directions. Just east of town, however, the rails remain in place to serve remaining customers.
