Back in 2012, several months after the ACES service ended, I saw it reported in several places that all the ACES multilevels had been restored to their NJT striping and commuter configurations... except for one. That one was, IIRC, #7236, which, while getting NJT striping, retained its lounge configuration and was renumbered to 8800, according to the reports.
I have not seen that car since, not even in the MMC as I pass by it on the job. Does anybody know what the ultimate fate of that car was, or if it has since been restored to its commuter configuration and number.
