I'm missing only 1 Hudson Line public timetable since 1983, and the October 1984 issue is the one I'm missing. That's relevant only because Croton North is shown as a station stop in the April 1984 timetable, but not in the April 1985 timetable. My recollection from the time is that it was eliminated as a station stop beginning with the October 1984 timetable.

The old station was right where the new road bridge to croton pt park is now. The old station was just south of the old bridge. When they put the high level platforms in for the new m-1 is when the old new station was built. The old new station is now they dry cleaning store. They then put the new ticket offices over the tracks where it is now. There was a traffic circle out front of the original station for drop offs and maybe two spaces for taxis. The lower lots wer built with the high platforms and they kept expanding.

The hobby shop once located in Croton North station, and downtown White Plains, and w. 45th St. in Manhattan (all 3 simultaneously) was "The Roundhouse."

Thanks Tom Curtin for the reply. Yes that was the name. Last saw this store, as I recall, in White Plains in the late 70's.

Great guy who ran it.

It took a while but I have finally come up with the date that Croton North
Station was eliminated as a station stop, started with the fall timetable of
1984 which was dated October 28, 1984.
I was working on the hunch that I would find it easier in the employee
timetable of the date rather than the public timetable of the date but the
employee timetable of the period was dated April 25, 1982 then re-dated
to January 1, 1983 when Metro-North took over. The next timetable was
not issued until April, 1985.
I checked every single General Order from the 1982 timetable and not once could I find any reference to changes at Croton North Station.
Finally dug out the public timetables from the period and that was how I
was able to establish the date of October 28, 1984.
When I qualified on the Hudson in the summer of 1983, it was told to me
that no electric trains were operating to Croton North so I assumed that
meant that there was no service to that point but at the time, some of the
Poughkeepsie jobs were still stopping there. The east yard was not in
active use although the third rail was still there and alive for a turn if
needed. I only turned there a couple of times and both times it was
because the "G" men were in Harmon.
I hope this clears this up. Still can't figure why this was not in the
employee timetable.

Thanks, Dutch.

The overhead bridge is on the alignment of the current bridge, correct?

This one is must be the new station further south. You can see the high platforms. Still doesn't look like it does today, but is it in the same place as today's station?

These two pics were both dated May, 1974. I guess the old one was just put out of service, or just about to be?

The new roadway bridge is south of the old bridge in the photo. The new road bridge is on the same alignment as the old station.

The pictures posted are of the temp bridge to the new high level platforms after the old station was demolished. The old station was painted green and was fully enclosed. This temp was kept in place for car drop offs at the top of the hill. The 1st new station was on ground level, it is now a dry cleaning store.
