I am curious what they do to correct this problem. Would they give the trains stuck behind the signals Form D's for short distances? It must be a pain in the ass for District 2, like basically operating in Dark Territory

Dist 2 still used the signal system. Just everything operated at restricted speed. That's a lot of railroad terms a non foamer/railroader will not understand! ;-)

I understand completely, does that mean you're calling me a foam.... oh wait....

And yes, they could have placed the signal system out of service on paper and gone with a Form D Control System, but that would not have saved much time, if any.

and gave line 12's for every crossing east of lawernce.... Luckily we crept up to them and the gates went down... My train had not one single red flag

Then you aren't supposed to leave a terminal without one! The conductor is responsible for making sure that their is a flag and the proper amount of fuses on board.

When I made my trip(8:35p) to Haverhill we only had to stop and protect Cross St. And when we returned the signals were functioning again and we had no Form Ds for the crossings.

Hard to check for a lot of things when you get a train 2 minutes before leaving time and no trainman...

Nothing says you have to leave on time in that situation. You have a job to do, and a late turn is not an excuse the FRA will except.

In reality that train was 50min delayed. It turned into the Patriots train at South Station, disappointing many Patriots fans who expected to get to the game close to on-time.

About that Patriots train, I heard from a friend, that there was like 13 kawasaki's on there, along with 3 f40's! Anyone have pictures of it?

Looks like this was the cause of the Framingham Line delay. From Boston.com:

The commuter rail system had one accident today, when a snow plow driving on an adjacent road blew chunks of ice into an inbound train along the Worcester-Framingham line. Eleven windows were crushed or damage, and a 50-year-old man, the only passenger on the coach, was taken to the hospital with non-life threatening injuries, said Grabauskas.

That must have been the "medical emergency" on the 12:40pm outbound today. That caused a ripple effect on the 2:15 Worcester inbound, supposedly delaying the crew an additional 40min for the 4:30 Worcester outbound? Why is it always on this line affecting my trains? :(

Remember a few decades ago when we were told that the Silver Line Bus "rapid transit" would give better service than the Orange Line El? Well... I don't recall the Orange Line getting stuck in traffic...
