In 1979, there was a branch that terminated in Columbia near Snowden River Parkway. GE had an appliance plant there that was storing many New Jersey Transit Arrow MU cars. You could easily see them from Route 175. I was just there and the plant is now IDx company and the branch has been torn up past Route 1/Washington Blvd where it used to go under Route 1. Can anyone give me a little history after 1979? Thanks out there.

The track is still there, though out of service, and hard to see from Route 1. The branch ends in an industrial park off Oakland Mills Road. The bridge over Robert Fulton Drive that connected the GE plant with the branch was demolished in the late '90's. Last use of the branch was to store cars that were pulled out earlier this year. An earlier thread about this branch is over in the regional forum.
