All of the contained apron floats were off bay ridge by 71, they were replaced with smaller ones, and those fell victim to shortly. Conrail operated the line till the 80s or 90s, but one of the reasons for no mroe car floating was when CR was foremed, they wanted nothign at all to do with waterfront opps.

Guys: Good pictures! I am surprised other than someone making a quick comment-these are E33s,guys. If these were former VGN units I don't know. The E33s ran for VGN,NH,PC then Conrail in their lives. It is almost unheard of for an electric locomotive to go thru so many owners. Did they run for N&W after VGN was merged in? This was some wreck-how long was the cleanup? If this happened today the RR would have the book thrown at the vandals responsible. .. Just some thoughts from MACTRAXX
