Ballast train & Track work

I passed by Burnham yard today and the NICTD 1000 and 8 ballast cars are parked there. Also in the yard is some kind of Ballast cleaner ..thing..plus a boxcar that's a part of it too. They're doing track work at the west approach to the bridge over the Cal-Sag channel.

There's also a crew called for the Ballast train for tomorrow.

looks like I will be modeling the burnham yard on my layout. Its a good interchange point.

Cool! can't wait to see it. Yesterday, passing by Burnham I saw the NICTD 1000 and train doing an air test, a South shore freight crew switching and the IHB waiting on the lead to come in the yard. I haven't seen it that busy in quite some time!
