Did anyone see the diesel/electric prototype Acela set running between NYP and CHI today? Did the trip in 8 hours! The host railroad agreed to give Amtrak 'the road' anytime they wished for the new High Speed service.

8 hours? Wow. By any chance, this diesel electric acela train, is it the one that was testing out in CO not too long ago?

I still think the steam idea is better that way they won't see the train when it doesn't blow its horn so as not to distrub those delicate trackside communities
