For any of you who haven't seen it yet, Jason Shron (self-proclaimed VIA-nut and president of Canadian model railroad manufacturer Rapido Trains) has spent the last four years building a full-size replica of one end of a VIA Rail CC&F blue&yellow coach in his basement. Some of you may have already seen the link elsewhere or a feature on the news (it's been getting great coverage), but for those of you who haven't, you need to see it!

He put up a video on youtube showing it off here:

He also launched a website dedicated to the coach, his future HO layout modelling the Kingston Sub (Toronto to Brockville), and a soon-to-be-set-up shop for VIA memorabilia. It is well worth checking out and bookmarking:

We have two of these coaches on the Blue Ridge Scenic Railway... They are awesome pieces of rolling stock; very quiet and very comfortable.

"You can have a train in your basement, too. You just need two things. You have to be absolutely insane. And you need an amazing wife".

Priceless...

Global TV News in Toronto has uploaded a few videos on this to YouTube: CBC News also has a story on their website but it's probably blocked outside Canada:
