Reading one of the threads gave me an idea. (Uh oh.) Since the LIRR supposedly is having problems with the DE/DM's, perhaps the LIRR would trade them in to GE for some Genesis DM's shaped like DL109's and painted in the NH Brooks Brothers livery. Retro. It might not make economic sense, but would get some railfan attention. Anyone else have any wild ideas?

would be nice if lirr got a genesis but it would be better of they painted it the WF colors, and whats a DL109?

a DL109 is an ALCo Cowl unit, looks like a snoot nosed E unit kinda

What are WF colors? The DL109 at first looks like a wimpy imitation of EMD's E units, but after a while one can appreciate its lines apart from EMD. It was more streamlined (slender and slanted) and had a 3 piece windshield.

Worlds fair is correct

Fully painted black, with orange stripe through window bands.. with dashing dan.

"ride the long island travel easy"
"Your steal through way to the fair gateway"

that slogan was on some of the MP75 cars also at that time.
any other cars(?)

It's not black, but slate grey for the Fair colours.
