I been looking on the CTA, and the Bombardier websites, and found nothing, but while I was searching I did found a article that the CTA board has voted on Wednesday to revise a contract for the new cars will be more secure, and safer, by adding live video feeds to operator from all cars, and that it could have emergency rescuers to access the video also, and more.

It says that CTA is suppose to get the 10 prototypes this year, but no month on when it going to come.

There's a color picture of them being towed around by a CP Rail diesel on the back cover of a recent issue of First & Fastest. They look exactly like the 3200s.

The first two 5000 series cars (5011-5012) are on the property, at the Skokie Shops. They either arrived on Friday (according to a couple fellow volunteers at IRM who work at the CTA) or a little more than a week ago (according to the chicagobus.org forums). Like most CTA rolling stock deliveries, I believe they are being delivered by Silk Road Transportation on low-boy flatbed trucks. For those who do not know, these cars will externally look more or less like the 3200s, with LED-type destination signs rather than rollsigns.
