212 did harm the evening rush, but 414 completely died in Beverly and a test train set which would have been used for the evening died in South Acton.

The 1121 was the culprit on 114 at Beverly.
The 2030 was the culprit on the Test Train at Derby.
Coupled with the loss of the set from the Wakefield incident and it was an epic
meltdown.

Ironically, PAR helped out with FI-1 bringing the test train to BET and BO-1
bringing 114's set to BET too. Both PAR locals were in BET at the same time!

Add 297/298 to the list of cancelled trains too...

Generally a collision will cause enough damage for it to be pulled for a few days. At minimum they'll take it through the building, but based on the photos this was a square hit, likely enough to take it out. At minimum the ditchlights are probably toast.
Someone appearing to be a maintenance worker posted some photos on WCVB's facebook post:

Photos are nested under Dick Johnson's comment about the cab car just having left the shops.

Correction...it was the 2034 on the Test Train that died. Fresh out of rehab from GE.

192 was listed as cancelled this morning, with 191 sent up to Newburyport to make up a late 160, but now the alerts say 192 is now uncancelled. Let the healing begin.

3 out of 5 days this week 408 had to cover 492s stops, and the regular express riders are not amused!

Here's a direct link to the pictures of the post-accident damage to 1628:

Not much help if you are not on facebook. Thanks anyway.

Yeah, I just didn't want to post the picture directly on here since I didn't take it myself.

Saw on my commuter rail tracker app this morning; looks like 1628 is already back in service?

It is. I had it on 119/124 last night. It's on a 6 car set that has two MBB cars in it.

This just in...

Trains in and out of North Station are expected to be delayed by at least 10-15 minutes due to a signal issue.
