I just found a photo shop that can make prints from 126 Instamatic slides. Back in Nov. 1974, I visited the 14 cars when they were at Calverton, and it was a cloudy day until AFTER I finished shooting the cars! Anyway, here are some of the results with B&W in a 35mm camera and color slides. I have the other 12 cars, anyone interested?

I love how the East End becomes the dumping ground for the RR.. Just 2 years ago a cut of dead M1's languished at the Calverton Siding until the natives made it into a hotel of sorts and lousy modern art piece.

BTW.. Love the shot of the C420(?) pulling a string of 4 '72s. Must of been a mistake.

Trainspot,

Please post the rest of your pictures. These six were fascinating! The bi-level 200 has just had a new paint job, great to see her in the 1974 condition. I'm interested to know what other three cars RMLI received from that lot. You have some good history here!

I should have the rest of the photos back early next week and will add to the album.
The cars that RMLI got were bag. 7723, combine, and the MU RPO.
Some of the others moved elsewhere, many were scrapped.
