anyone know what these are for? they are always there. (in everett). yesterday i saw MBTA workers loading them with stone. do they store stone along the side of the saugus line and get it when they need it?

The MBCR uses this track (the west end of the Saugus Branch at Everett Jct) to store and load ballast cars for maintenance work.

the stone is for the beverly/salem bridge construction going on. ive seen these locals going up and down through salem a lot lately, and parked at the construction site.

also, i just saw four tiny work trains (? proper term) (2 of them looked like small plows)go through salem northbound..... not sure if they went to the job site or to peabody...will check later
