City officials are asking the state for help in forcing Guilford Transportation Industries to fix a reportedly unsafe railroad overpass on Mayflower Hill Drive.

Another article on the subject, from today's Sentinel:
WATERVILLE -- An abutment under a railroad bridge on Mayflower Hill Drive is apparently crumbling and needs repair, but no one is claiming ownership of the structure. ... James Patterson, Guilford's vice president of engineering and mechanical, told councilors Guilford does not own the wing-walls below the bridge.

Drum roll please: GRS apologists may now begin stating that all railroads are SOB's but GRS were just enlightened enough to be the first to pioneer defered maintenance. :wink:
