The R6 Shawmont station closed in 1995, now 10 years later they're building apartments within a half mile to the former station called "The Glen at Shawmont Station." Kinda ironic I think.

Someone is also planning to build some condos and apartments on Venice Island (which is just across the canal from Manayunk) to replace the closed soap factory and paper mill, which are very close to the R6 Ivy Ridge station. If they make it easy for those residents to walk to the train station, I think SEPTA could see a few hundred extra riders every workday at Ivy Ridge, if SEPTA, the City, and the developers could coordinate the effort needed to make these connections.

Do you know what city you're in? Now that we have patted ourselves in the back for pulling Live 8 off without serious hitches, we can fall back into our regular, lazy, uncommunicative selves. :(

Come on, you're really asking too much out of these people. :(
