One dead, one injured as train collides with car in Hammonton
Horrible! Been through that crossing many times. The well marked stop lines are pretty far back from the crossing. What was the driver thinking?

Atlantic City Line will be replaced with bus service between AC and Lindenwold starting weekdays April 9 to June 22 from 7:30 am to 3:30 pm for track and signal work. Are they installing PTC?

Just received notification from the TWP of Hammonton that the ACL will be bussing for about 3 months during the week due to "major improvements". Anybody heard any additional scuttle on this?

The TGIV was at Cherry Hill station at 8:25 AM. Shortly thereafter it moved to inspect the River LINE.

I feel bad for anyone coming out of Pensauken, that went from a 1 seat ride to Trolley, Patco and SEPTA in one fell swoop.

The Inquirer had some more details:

A quick fair use snippet:
The internal email from NJ Transit’s senior director of systems operations, Richard Green, was also obtained by the Inquirer and Daily News. In it, Green wrote that equipment from the South Jersey route would be diverted to bolster NJ Transit service elsewhere.

The shutdown is being done to speed PTC installation, Snyder said, and was not a case of South Jersey being poached to support busier routes in the northern part of the state.

You would think keeping 1 set of equipment there for PTC(ACSES) system testing.

Is PTC actually installed on the ACL?

Yes, PTC will need to be installed on the line unless the service is cut to 6 round trips or less per day.
