Has anyone tried any of the craftsman kits like South River Modelworks? There are at least two dozen manufacturers, but SRM seems to have the most detailed manuals. The kits are in the $300 range, but i like to think of that as $100 worth of hydrocal parts and stripwood, $100 worth of Grandt Line castings, and $100 "tuition" - the great manual.

If you have done one, post a picture on your layout.
