I'd read an article in Time magazine sometime in the last 6 months.
The article itself was about the US economy.

In the distance it looks like an E unit sitting in the yard. Does UP still use them regularly? From the photo, taken by Rachel Mummey for Time, look at the other engines. Could anyone speculate a timeframe in which he image was taken?

Typically used for their OCS's if I'm not mistaken.

I know that doesn't help put a date to the photo. Unfortunately it doesn't really help date it any more than any of the other engines there. About the only help is that I don't see any engines with the more recent flag scheme, although I don't know the date of when that started.

EDIT: I take that back, I think the 3rd one behind 6223 next to the E's has it, but that's the only one I see.
