The Amtrak Gateway project page includes everything. So I'm guessing the $20B covers it all.

NJT did the engineering designs for the bridge. So why not?

The design work is actually already done... or at least is supposed to be. NJ Transit did that.

Costs between ARC and Gateway appear to be apples to oranges. The costs of just the ARC bores and Gateway bores may be a better comparison. Then the other Gateway projects, Penn south, 4 tracking, each new portal bridge,& Secaucus loop separate. But even comparing just bore costs may be difficu...

A fairly detailed analysis of the current situation and challenges posed by Gateway. I'd quibble with some of the characterizations (ARC was not meant to "replace" the North River tunnels; it was meant to supplement and divert NJT trains, and with acknowledged design flaws. But overall, a...

Well I'm certainly not going to say how great things are at NYP, but a few comments... Most commuters get how things work and I've never seen anyone 'fight' to get on a train. Nor have I ever seen passengers regularly left on the platform because they were unable to get down the stairs to a train. (...

Is the $25 million for Summit Station in the 2016 Capital Budget a reference to the Pocket Track work, or is this part of some station improvements? No idea. I can't find any specific mention of Summit in the actual budget documents from either 2015 or 2016. The 'West Summit Interlocking' is the on...

I'm actually not sure bundling the projects would make them easier to get through. Many times different projects get funds from different places so bundling might complicate that. Also, the bigger the price tag, the more opposition can be mustered. Interesting note that the Passaic River bridge is a...

The NJ state rail plan actually proposes a third track from Millburn to Summit.

Whether or not that ever happens is anyone's guess.

Did anyone go the Morris Avenue bridge meeting on Wednesday? Just wondering if NJT mentioned anything about the pocket track project, since they'll likely conflict if done at the same time. I did not go and have not seen any account of it. However, I don't see any conflict. If the pocket track and ...

The New York Times makes the case for the gateway tunnels. Passenger traffic under the Hudson River — and by association a hefty chunk of the nation’s economy — relies on a couple of broken-down, century-old tunnels strained to capacity. They serve Amtrak and New Jersey Transit trains that at rush ...

Don't know about all of them, but at least some are push pull...sometimes using diesel power, sometimes dual mode.
