ConRail Northeastern Region ETT No. 1 effective June 18, 1978 shows Corning Branch CP WD MP 4.3 and CP Rich MP 11.8 both remotely controlled from GY.

Hiked down in to the location of the bridge a couple times. Parked legally up along NYS Rt. 14 and then followed the creek gorge through the woods. Was a lot younger back then. Once photographed EC15 from the east side of the bridge. Very tricky as there was a very narrow gap through the trees. A tr...

You are welcome. About 1951 I rode up to Cayuta from Owego with a school pal and his father in order to visit the Cotton-Hanlon mill. We were allowed to go in and to watch the huge band saw at work. The saw had teeth on both edges and was powered by a steam engine. Amazing to see it zip through huge...

The LVRR had CWR between Gilbert station and about MP 305. On August 21,1978 I followed and photographed the first CWR scrap empty Geneva Jct. to MP 306. The train had CR loco 8022 and a former LVRR crew. My notes relate that the cars were for Kelly Scrap. This eastward move was halted by a sun kink ...

This branch was abandoned between Ithaca and Trumansburg in 1962 and between Trumansburg and Geneva Jct. in 1967. The ...
