it's been a good 3+ years since i've rode the LIRR but i always liked getting the odd set of M3s on a late night KO train, the lights going out occasionally helped the sober up nap on the ride back.

after looking hard at that photo again, no evidence of the MO team track that was double ended and curved away from the main/siding a bit and would have tied back in at about where the photog was standing. a leftover from the old wye that was removed pre WW2. it was still in place as late as the 72 ...
