All Aboard for a Historical Ride

A new train ride makes it possible to visit the past of western New York.

Two local rail museums are offering train lovers rides on motorized hand cars. That's what railroad workers used to use to repair the tracks.

The track cars leave from the New York Museum of Transportation in Rush to the Genesee Valley Railroad Museum.

The museum opened for the season on May 15, and rides continue through October.

New train ride?? Hmmmm. I thought that it has been running for nearly 10 years now.

And they lopped off the "Rochester" as in "Rochester & Genesee Valley Railroad Museum," so named for the Rochester & Genesee Valley Railroad that became the Erie Rochester Division that runs past our depot at Industry.
