Danville yard limits to 162 by Hannaford was put up to 25 Monday. First train through was PORU, surprising some motorists. Danville is still 10, and East of Auburn is still 10, to the previously mentioned locations.

Pretty soon District 1 will almost have fewer 10's than District 2. And I find this really puzzling....

I don't think so. Northern Mainline and Stoney Brook 10 that's it for D2. You have miles upon miles of 5 or 10 on branches and 10 on the main in D1.

D2 has 5's and 10's on the Northern Main, Hillsboro Branch, Stoney Brook, Lowell Branch, and Portsmouth Branch. Pretty soon D1 will only have 10's on the Rumford Branch, Hinckley Branch, and the main east of NMJ which might as well be an industrial track anyway.

EDIT: Forgot about the Bucksport Branch as well. But again, hardly even main track at this point.

Only including active lines using TCS with slow orders:

Keag to Waterville - 112 miles of 10/5
Bucksport branch - 17 miles of 10/5
Hinkley - 8 miles of 10/5
Rumford - 44 miles of 10/5

181 miles of slow orders
Removing NMJ to Keag
119 miles of slow orders

Willows East to Lowell Junction - 21 miles of 10
Portsmouth Branch - 9 miles of 10
Northern Mainline - 38 miles of 10
Hillsboro - 13 miles of 10

81 miles of slow orders

Also considering not all of Royal Junction to Waterville is 25 by any realm of the imagination, but I stated it was for simplicity.

The OCS made Portland in slightly over four hours, so it's not that bad.

138-142 got bumped up to 25 today. All in all, this is the fastest D1 has been in quite a while.

The speedo for up there is definitely the shortest it's been in a long time.

My personal observations of the track bed would agree and they don't seem to be intending to stop anytime soon.

How long before those 25s become 10s again? We've seen how short-lived the upgrades on the West End have been.

If they can get it to 25 thru Auburn and Lewiston by the end of this fall, I'll be a happy camper. Even if it's back to 10 in the Spring

Seems like they're dumping a lot of rock, something they haven't done lately.Maybe that will help keep it 25? Maybe being to optimistic. :-)
