Amtrak train derails in tunnel between Union Station and Alexandria, delays expected

The derailment is expected to cause travel delays to and from D.C

The disabled train is in the tunnel just south of D.C., Amtrak reported at 9 a.m.

Late morning VRE trains could not get into Union Station this morning

The good thing is that VRE has a train set parked near L'Enfant which they can use for service this evening

Fredericksburg trains 301, 303 and 305 and 315 will NOT operate.

Manassas trains 325, 327, 329, 333, 337 will NOT operate.

ALL VRE trains will originate this evening in L'Enfant.

FBG 307 will depart LEF at 4:08pm

MSS 331 will depart LEF at 5:18pm

FBG 311 will depart LEF at 5:28pm

MSS 335 will depart LEF at 6:08pm

FBG 313 will depart LEF at 6:18pm

315 and 337 will NOT operate this afternoon.

Last opportunity for passengers to go south will be 335 and 313.
