They usually go only to Garden 3W block which is approximately 1500 feet east of Garden interlocking. The reason they go onto the secondary is because the sandite train crew needs to stay clear of the regular scheduled passenger trains on the Hempstead Branch and if there is not enough time in the schedule to spin in Hempstead yard, they go onto the secondary and wait there for clearance to head back west to the mainline.

And later the same day 150 and 152 were seen heading west on the Garden City Secondary bracketing two LI gondolas and two NOKL gondolas at around 4:12PM and seen again at the Garden City station following train 6759 at around 4:25PM.
