I think the MTA has fumbled every step in this process, and they're not in the least negotiating in good faith. I'm not certain what they have up their sleeve, other than working class warfare.

If it comes to a strike I feel it will be short lived before Congress imposes 245 and sends the boys and girls back to work. Andy looks like the tough guy who held tough for the taxpayers and was overruled by washington.

Except for one thing, many of the public sectors unions in NY recenty settled without this kind of acrimony. I think the LIRR is especially despised by the Governor. I think he is trying to settle a score for Daddy from 1994.

Amazing at how the MTA can now afford the deal when they added a seventh year when they were moaning all along that they couldn't. They are so underhanded it's disgusting.

Only one sellout a year: opening day. Even ample room any other day at the "commuter lot" on the south side of Roosevelt (which I recall is MTA owned and leased to Mets, which collect fees).

Lets see if they meet tomorrow. Plan still sounds like a clusterf**k to me

Negotiations ended today with no compromise:

Brief quote:
“The unions did come to today’s meeting, but clearly not to negotiate,” MTA spokesman Aaron Donovan told 1010 WINS. “The unions still have not budged one inch and continue to hold a strike over the heads of all Long Islanders. We urge the union leadership to come back and settle this contract at the bargaining table.”

Another reason to send Junior packing next year

All MTA Board members are appointed by the Governor, some on the recommendation of City and County officials in the MTA service region.

How long can the new cycle maintain the falsehood that the TWU100 deal is far less generous than the one being offered to us. The Daily Snooze maintains that our Transit brothers and sisters accepted a measly 8.25 deal over 5 years , what about the 7% on the front end ? That's 15% in my book on wages alone , I won't even go into better medical, dental, optical and the rail pass. Why doesn't the MTA step up and correct the local newspapers ? Ah , once again I forgot about their smear campaign they are conduction in the Local media with the willing help of a few useful idiots. The MTA is doing their darndest to incite class warfare between Employee and customer as well as new employee vs. old employee , who could marry such a devious partner?
