25Hz posted links to historic photos of Penn Station, New York, taken before it opened to the public, on the PRR forum. He got them from Shorpy, an excellent source of period railroad, (and other,) photos. I've picked up many over the years there. Here are a few. There's a B&O pileup in Laurel, MD in 1922, complete with a railfan (maybe) in short pants, right in there with the gandy dancers.
There's one of an American Standard at the east entrance to Manunka Chunk tunnel circa 1900. There's one at West Chunk (it says,) showing the station complex and the Bel Del line from Belvidere.
Same train, Bergen Hill. Different engine. Same crew.
Round house office on the Indiana Harbor Belt. When you click on the link, you're on Shorpy, and if you click the picture for comments, somebody posted a description of how a pool board worked on the B&O.
