Am hearing that the Pulp Mill is soon to be, or already, up and running again at Old Town. Can anyone confirm this? Thanks!

Correct, Red Shield Environmental is not just using the boilers, they are gearing up to produce pulp again. Last news piece I read on it was that they were looking to hire 90 people for the work.

There's quite a bit of Wood Waste that's trucked up to disposal/burn plants in Maine from Southern New England C&D facilities, so with rail access at Old Town, am guessing there's a good chance that some of that material could move by rail. A lot depends on what they'll pay for the stuff (or even charge in some cases) vs those other locations.

The Ethanol would likely be for consumption within New England and as of right now, the only place with Ethanol unloading rail infrastructure is the Motiva terminal at the Port of Providence. If it's going to the tank farms at Bangor/Brewer, S Portland or Revere/Chelsea, chances are it will move by truck.

Seems they are already shipping Pulp out by rail according to some articles I've read (7 railcars as of June 12th to be exact). Assuming they are brining in Caustic and Sodium Chlorate as well. Hopefully this will mean a little bigger sized NMED in the days ahead..
