For the record the 6721 is sitting just west of the station in Utica. It has
not moved since being placed there in 1999. The NYS&W(thank you
Walter) donated the track matrerial and the space that it occupies.
It came by rail (loco only) from Ohio and is currently owned by the
U&MV nrhs which maintains it and is in the process of restoring it
cosmetically. Come by any time and take all the pictures you want.

For all I know, this one may have been sitting there for years, but I've only just noticed it. . . .

On the dead line just north of the Croton-Harmon station, there's an old stainless steel commuter car (possibly a converted Budd coach?) that sports a "Metro North Commuter Railroad" herald next to the door, and "New York Central" on the letterboard above the windows.

Cosmetically, it appeared to be in better shape than the Amtrak Amfleet that I was sitting in at the time.

East Cleveland, the cars you are talking about were part of the MN wire train... the are in really crummy shape and not worth saving. Howveer, Rochester Chapter NRHS uses former NYC stainless cars in their Fall Foliage Trains...

fgllk- Croton-Harmon is not Utica.

There is an NYC Baggage Car in Chicago at the Amtrak Yards.
