I am looking for a track diagram of the Nyack, NY, yard as it was in the 1950s before the end of passenger service. The station was along one of the yard tracks. Nyack was the nothern terminus of the Erie's Northern Branch.

Here is a map and profile of the Northern Branch that includes a schematic of the Nyack yard.

This url takes you to a map of the Erie in the NY-NJ area. On the left of the map you can click on Northern RR of New Jersey: Milepost 18.5-28.5. This will give you a track schematic and profile of the end of the line, including Nyack yard.

I was in Northvale yesterday and heard the train horn at Pierron Ave. The switcher was there on the north end of the Northern picking up a box car. Since the siding at State Line has been out of service for many years, they take two units to permit switching on the north end. Yesterday, it was two six axle SD40-2s. That's a lot of power for one box car! Here are the pictures:

Alot of wasted fuel especially w/prices so high nowadays.

Doesn't CSX have SW1500s or similar?

Service like that would be ideal for a Green Goat locomotive. I'm surprise, with the cost of fuel, that RailPower isn't selling more of these units.
